What “check a listing” actually means
Checking a used listing is not the same as trusting the asking price. An ask is a seller’s number — not transaction truth and not market truth by itself. Before you pay, look at:
- What the seller claims (condition, accessories, unlock status, defects)
- What the listing actually shows (photos, title, description consistency)
- What remains unknown or incomplete
- Whether the item matches a lane GarnettWork can triage today
Unknown can be the correct result. Incomplete evidence is not a green light.
Seller claims vs evidence
Seller language is marketing until it is backed by listing evidence. “Like new,” “works great,” and “unlocked” are claims. Photos, configuration details, and consistent description language are evidence. GarnettWork is built to help you separate signal from hype before you commit cash.
